Letter from the Rector (Nov 2)

Greetings to my Kairos Brothers,

My name is Kevin English. I have been blessed with the opportunity to serve as your Rector for Kairos 29. We have been given the green light for February 13-16th, 2009. I am seeking your prayerful consideration to be a part of the team.

I realize that we have just completed K28 and many of us are still in the process of absorbing the many miracles and blessings that we witnessed. Some of us are still trying to catch up with those things that got a bit behind while working K28. I believe that one of the reasons that K28 went so well was because God allowed us time. He allowed us His “special time” to get to know each other on a deep level and to build community among the team.

With this in mind I am planning to use the same model for K29. We will have five team meetings. This will allow us to take our time, not be rushed, and let the Lord form this team. It is with this community of Christian brothers that Jesus will be able to witness to those who live in a very dark place.

The scripture theme for this weekend is from Matthew 11:28. “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy burdened, and I will give you rest…”

Maybe you are feeling weary and need His rest. He promises that His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Are you feeling called to serve? Are you feeling our Lord telling you that it is your time for Kairos? I am praying that it is so. Please prayerfully consider being a part of the team for K29. My role as rector is to be a servant. It is to hold you up in prayer, to provide you with information, and to give you tools to help you with what God has called you to do at Kairos 29.
