Kairos 20 Weekend: Oct 10-13, 2003 "I will give you a new heart..." Ezk 36:26 |
Revised 9/2/03
The Rector for our next weekend will be . Please keep him, and our Lompoc Kairos Council, in your prayers.
As we get closer to the weekend we'll have four opportunities for you to support the ministry: the team, the prayer vigil, letters, and shields.
Dear Kairos Brothers:
I'm still basking in the warm glow of all the miraculous events of K19, but I realize that time is marching on. Since it's summer and people are planning trips and time with their families, I thougt that I better alert you to the team meeting dates for Kairos 20.
As I was praying and meditating about the theme for this weekend, I reflected on what Kairos meant to me. The scenes that kept coming up for me were the memories of Clausuras where the outside community gets to come in and witness part of the miracles that have happened over the weekend. Only part of the miracles because the outside community did not get to see those same men on Friday evening. Most team members develop strong cases of eyeball perspiration at this point because we've been there. We've witnessed the changes that evidence the fulfillment of God's promise. He said that if we'd just "open the door" He'd come in and change us. We are brought to tears not only because we remember the fulfillment of that promise in our own hearts, but we are also welcoming new brothers being born into the family of God.
I was searching scripture for a concise statement of that promise, and behold what I found in Ezekiel 36:26 "And I will give you a new heart with new and right desires, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony heart of sin and give you a new, obedient heart." The theme for K20 will be "I will give you a new heart..." Ezk. 36:26
I urge you to work this weekend and invite a friend you know who is new to Kairos to join you. Please visit the Kairos website at http://www.kairoslompoc.org and fill in the K20 team application. It will be automatically forwarded to me. If you have questions, email me at gertw@gte.net or call me at 805 964-1777. Also... Please pray for this weekend and the team formation both outside and inside.
In Christ's Love,
Gert
